While we are encouraging online digitisation requests during the COVID 19 pandemic, from Tuesday 19 May 2020 the SRO will be offering a limited number of appointments (max. 3 hours) to view archives requested online. To arrange a visit please request up to 5 items online and email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an appointment.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are warned that SRO's online catalogue includes the names of deceased persons. The SRO also acknowledges that accessing some of this material can be confronting.
Register online to make a digitisation request. You can also submit a digitisation request through our main website. When requesting a digital copy, we will subsequently advise you if the archive is suitable for digitisation and provide you with information about the method of payment. Archives that are restricted access or difficult to handle without potentially incurring damage are not generally digitised.
Digital images that appear in the catalogue are provided for research purposes and any further copying should not be carried out without reference to the Australian Copyright Act 1968 and the SRO.
