Administrative history

Applecross Primary School opened on 5 April 1905 at the Melville Road Board Hall with 22 students. New purpose built buildings were opened on 4 September 1913 and the original buildings still stand on the current school site. In 1949, new classrooms were established for student use. Student numbers increased over the years and peaked in 1962 with 842 students enrolled at the school.
