Half-caste “Johnnie / Johnny” (about 14 years old) was committed to the care of the State Children Department until 18. Son of “Annie or Jennie” of Kurnalpi. Johnny had been working for Mr A J Starr looking after cattle. He was admitted to the Swan Boys’ Orphanage. Mr T Gibbon of Kurnalpi campaigned to have Johnny released. In 1913 the name Jack was being used in conjunction with Johnny and in 1914 the surname Starr was being used. Jacky and Nellie Orchard had a child.
