The Western Australian College of Teaching (WACOT) was first established by law on 15 September 2004 as an independent professional body representing all members of the WA teaching profession. The College was established to regulate, promote and enhance the teaching profession in Western Australia.

WACOT was superceded by the Teacher Registration Board on 7 December 2012.
